IPOVCON 2025 –  POVERTY CONFERENCE IN BILIRAN

The IPOVCON 2025 conference, hosted by Samar State University and co-hosted by Biliran Province State University and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development – Regional Office 8, will center on the theme “Technology-Driven Solutions for Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Sustainability.” This event will showcase groundbreaking research studies from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country and beyond. It will feature not only research presentations but also keynote speeches, research posters, and innovation exhibits. The conference aims to highlight tech-driven solutions and innovations that contribute to poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

UP OIL COOPERATE GRANT FOR RESEARCH/CREATIVE

The UP Office of International Linkages Diliman (OIL Diliman) calls on UPD faculty and graduate students (master’s and doctoral) who need financial support for their research to apply for the UP OIL Continuous Operational Outcomes-based Partnership for Excellence in Research and Academic Training Enhancement (COOPERATE) Program. The current application cycle is for those with international research and/or creative activities scheduled from January to March 2026.

The COOPERATE grant aims to promote the development of research and creative manpower of the University through research cooperation and academic training with international partner universities. The main objective is to increase the research and creative productivity of UP to aid in nation-building and to uphold its mandate as the National Research University. It aspires to increase the number of students who are successfully able to finish their degrees (Master’s/Doctoral) in a timely manner, through co-advisership with experts in international partner universities and through active research cooperation.

Funding, which includes travel expenses, accommodation, and living expenses will be provided to the qualified graduate student and research adviser.

Eligibility

• UP graduate students at the master’s thesis/doctoral dissertation stage with an approved Thesis/Dissertation Proposal issued by the unit head or head of the unit’s graduate committee
• Faculty/research adviser of a graduate student (who must have an established collaboration with international faculty/researcher)

PALM OIL INNOVATION CHALLENGE, WIN 1200 USD

The ASEAN Youth Leaders in Palm Oil Sustainability 2025 program invites students to take part in its flagship initiative, the Palm Oil Innovation Challenge 2025. This competition serves as a platform for students to explore real issues in the palm oil sector and propose innovative solutions that address the industry’s environmental, social, and economic challenges. Participants are required to submit a one-page proposal or infographic and pitching video of their idea.
