2025 ESRI USER CONFERENCE IN CALIFORNIA
Esri, the creator of ArcGIS, invites faculty, students, and researchers to submit and showcase their GIS work at the Esri User Conference in San Diego, California, from July 14–18, 2025. This opportunity aims to support and highlight the impactful use of ArcGIS in education. Selected participants will receive a certificate of recognition and may be featured in Jack Dangermond’s Plenary Session presentation or in Esri marketing materials.

HITACHI GLOBAL FOUNDATION AWARD 2025
Applications for the Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award 2025 for UPD faculty, researchers, or students.
The Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award was launched in fiscal year 2020 to promote science, technology and innovation that will solve social issues and achieve a sustainable society in the ASEAN region. The award recognizes individuals and groups that served public interests through their outstanding achievements in research and development in the fields of science and technology, including their visions of an ideal future society and social implementation plans for R&D as a means of achieving the UN’s SDGs. This year, applicants are now allowed to select one SDG and one target from the 169 targets outlined in the 17 SDGs. Awards will be given accordingly:
- Best Innovation Award: monetary prize of 3,000,000 JPY per awardee
- Outstanding Innovation Award: monetary prize of 1,000,000 JPY per awardee
- Encouragement Award(s): monetary prize of 500,000 JPY per awardee
Eligibility
Applicants may be an individual or a group. In a group application, a representative must be designated as its lead proponent. Applicants shall meet the following criteria:
- The applicant shall be a faculty member, researcher or student from one of the eligible universities and who is to undertake the research in the country where the affiliation is located.
- The applicant shall have made an exemplary accomplishment in research and development in the
fields of science and technology, and must show evidence of project impact and innovation that
may include but is not limited to published research papers, conference presentations, acquired
patents, and an accompanying social implementation plan. - The applicant shall be endorsed by his or her affiliation.

2025 KOICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (BATCH 2)
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Scholarship Program is accepting applications for five (5) master’s and three (3) doctoral programs. This initiative aims to train key leaders in partner countries, empowering them to drive socio-economic development in their home countries. The application deadline is June 2, 2025.
Eligibility
1. Philippine Government
- Must be 40 years old and below provided the return service obligation is still within the nominee’s serviceable years;
- Candidate must have rendered at least two (2) years of service;
- Must hold a permanent appointment;
- Must have a college degree related to the field of study or has sufficient demonstrated ability and experience along the field of study;
- Must not have a pending application for scholarship under another program; and
- Must have rendered the service obligation required under Executive Order 367 for scholarship recently concluded before he/she could again be nominated for another program where the field of study is different from the previous training.

Requirements
Nomination papers to be submitted prior to the screening consisting of the following:
1. A letter of nomination addressed to the CHED Chairperson, Attention: Director of the
International Affairs Service, signed by the Secretary of Head of Office, Agency, University of
Entity or its duly authorized official indicating among others the following:
a. That the nominee has no pending administrative and criminal charges;
b. That the nominee has been conferred with a degree; and
c. Assurance of utilizing the services of the nominee, if accepted for a period of not less than two (2) years of every year of scholarship or a fraction thereof not less than six (6) months or as provided under E.O. 367 amending E.O. 129
2. Certified Copy of Service Record
3. Certified Copy of Statement of Actual Duties and Responsibilities
4. Photocopy of Transcript of Academic Records (Baccalaureate and Graduate, if applicable)
5. Photocopy of Diploma
6. Certification that the nominee has no pending administrative and criminal case
7. Certification that the nominee has no pending scholarship nomination to other program(s)
8. Updated biodata/resume with list of in-service training and seminars attended (spell out acronyms of organizers and topics or subjects of the training programs); certificates of training NEED NOT be submitted)
