ASEAN-ROK Award for Excellence in Science, Technology, and Innovation 2021

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Government of Republic of Korea (ROK) through the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), are calling for applications for the ASEAN-ROK Award for Excellence in Science, Technology, and Innovation 2021. This is an annual award established to encourage young scientists and engineers to take on research in science, technology, and innovation. It recognizes academic and professional achievements of promising, early-career scientists and engineers of ASEAN nationality.

For this year, the Award features two distinctions and are open to professionals pursuing careers in any field of natural sciences and engineering who will meet the following qualifications:

1. Next ASEAN Innovator

  • A citizen of an ASEAN Member State;
  • Professional with less than 5 years of working experience after earning PhD;
  • No record in the past two years of receiving an award organized or supported by ASEAN, in the field of science and engineering

2. ASEAN-ROK STI Pioneer

  • A citizen of an ASEAN Member State; and
  • Currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Korea; or
  • A professional whose completion of a doctoral program is less than 5 years and has significant research collaboration experience (e.g. post-doctoral programme, etc.) with Korea
  • No record in the past two years of receiving an award organized or supported by ASEAN, in the field of science and engineering

Online Seminar for ASEAN in Energy Science

The Study in Japan Global Network Project Regional Office in ASEAN would like to invite the AUN member universities and ASEAN students to the Online Seminar for ASEAN in Energy Science on 30 June 2021, 16.00-17.30 (JST).

This online seminar is a collaborative event by Okayama University and Kyoto University. Participants will have the benefit of attending a special mini-lecture from Prof. Hideaki Ohgaki, Institute of Advanced Energy, Kyoto University, followed by an experience sharing session by a current international student studying at Kyoto University.

In the last session, there will be an information sharing on the available Scholarships for ASEAN students to study in Japan.
