15TH ACFEA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE IN VIETNAM

The Asian Consumer and Family Economics Association (ACFEA) invites researchers, faculty, and graduate students from around the world to submit their papers for the 15th Biennial Conference. The main theme of the International Conference is “Economic Issues Faced by Contemporary Consumers and Families: Climate Change, Population Aging, and Digitalization.”

The conference aims to enhance the well-being of consumers, families, and businesses in an era of constant disruptions. It provides a platform to present research, receive valuable feedback, and engage in insightful discussions. Participants can also look forward to keynote speeches from distinguished scholars.

MASTER’S AND PHD SCHOLARSHIPS IN THAILAND

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, in collaboration with various Thai universities and academic institutions, is offering “Thailand Scholarships 2025” for international students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees.

HITACHI GLOBAL FOUNDATION AWARD 2025

Applications for the Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award 2025 for UPD faculty, researchers, or students.

The Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award was launched in fiscal year 2020 to promote science, technology and innovation that will solve social issues and achieve a sustainable society in the ASEAN region. The award recognizes individuals and groups that served public interests through their outstanding achievements in research and development in the fields of science and technology, including their visions of an ideal future society and social implementation plans for R&D as a means of achieving the UN’s SDGs. This year, applicants are now allowed to select one SDG and one target from the 169 targets outlined in the 17 SDGs. Awards will be given accordingly:

• Best Innovation Award: monetary prize of 3,000,000 JPY per awardee
• Outstanding Innovation Award: monetary prize of 1,000,000 JPY per awardee
• Encouragement Award(s): monetary prize of 500,000 JPY per awardee

Eligibility

Applicants may be an individual or a group. In a group application, a representative must be designated as its lead proponent. Applicants shall meet the following criteria:

1. The applicant shall be a faculty member, researcher or student from one of the eligible universities and who is to undertake the research in the country where the affiliation is located.
2. The applicant shall have made an exemplary accomplishment in research and development in the
   fields of science and technology, and must show evidence of project impact and innovation that
   may include but is not limited to published research papers, conference presentations, acquired
   patents, and an accompanying social implementation plan.
3. The applicant shall be endorsed by his or her affiliation.

MASTER’S AND PHD SCHOLARSHIPS IN TAIWAN

The Lo Chia-luen International Sinology Chair at National Chengchi University is inviting students interested in pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees in Sinology to apply for its annual scholarship program in Taiwan.

Lo Chia-luen International Sinology Chair, National Chengchi University (NCCU) has established this scholarship to commemorate Mr. Lo Chia-luen’s contributions and to encourage outstanding graduate students to come to NCCU to study sinology1 and exchange knowledge. This initiative aims to connect Taiwan and Asian experiences with international Sinology trends and to conduct forward- looking research.

Scholarship benefits

• Monthly stipend of NTD 30,000 will be provided for Masteral students;
• Monthly stipend of NTD 50,000 will be provided for Doctoral students;
• Award periods:
  • Period 1 – September 2025 to February 2026 (must begin in September 2025)
  • Period 2 – February 2026 to July 2026 (must begin after mid-February 2026)
• Recipients must carry out their research at NCCU;
• The scholarship provides recipients from overseas universities with one round-trip, economy-class flight ticket.
• All application requirements must be submitted to the Office of Lo Chia-luen International Sinology Chair via email by 15 May 2025.

ASEAN PRIZE 2025 FOR INDIVIDUALS AND ORGS

ASEAN Prize 2025 is now calling for nominations to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to ASEAN Community-building efforts. The recipient will receive a prestigious trophy and a monetary award of USD 20,000, at the 47th ASEAN Summit, chaired by Malaysia.

Applicants are encouraged to provide details of their achievements in the following areas:

• Outstanding collaboration between ASEAN Member States (AMSs);
• Outstanding collaboration between ASEAN and the world;
• Outstanding people-to-people engagement among AMSs;
• Outstanding economic integration and promotion of standards between AMSs;
• Other outstanding contributions to ASEAN Community Building.
